Steps to Qualify a WNC HealthyBuilt Home

It's easy!

  1. Contact the WNC Green Building Council (WNCGBC) with questions or interest in qualifying a HealthyBuilt Home. Email HealthyBuiltHomes@wncgbc.org or call 828.254.1995.

  2. Join the WNCGBC as a Business Member.

  3. Visit the Green Calendar to register for the next HealthyBuilt Homes Orientation Course. This course must be completed before a certificate can be issued.
  1. Schedule an appointment with the WNCGBC. Complete the New Home Registration Form, pay per home fee, review checklist and indicate possible points.

  2. Work with a Certified HealthyBuilt Home Rater to perform the HealthyBuilt Home inspection as well as the required Energy Star rating. List of HBH Certified HERS Raters

  3. Schedule an appointment with your Rater to perform the Energy Star modeling.

  4. Schedule inspections during construction:
    • At completion of framing and before insulation
    • After insulation
    • At the home's completion

  5. All documentation will be sent to NC Solar Center for review and final approval. The certificate and performance reports will then be sent to the builder.

  6. Build your next HealthyBuilt Home!
